FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM
of Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin:

The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) offers men and women age 60 and older opportunities to serve as tutors, mentors, role models and friends to children and teens under age 21 with special and/or exceptional needs.  www.mnseniorcorps.org

Foster Grandparents serve 15 - 40 hours a week in one or more local community non-profit agencies.  Eligible volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend of $2.65 per hour and assistance with transportation costs.  Other benefits include an annual physical, holidays, and paid leave.  Orientation, regular in-service training, and annual recognition events are also provided.

Challenge Center is an organization with over 30 years experience in providing services to adults with developmental disabilities.  Volunteers of all ages needed to assist with or become mentors in various programs such as:  Evening/Weekend Recreation, gardening and landscaping at our group homes, in our day programs and tomato greenhouses.  Volunteers will receive information and training before working in our programs.

Established in 1973, RSVP of Douglas County provides a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for mature adults, age 55 and over, in areas where needs have been expressed in the community.  RSVP volunteers are placed in over 40 sites throughout the county serving the specific needs of each public or private non-profit agency.  We are especially looking for volunteers in our Senior Support Services and Literacy Projects.  Areas of service would include Elder Peer Support Volunteers, Senior Home Repair Volunteers, Driver Escort Volunteers, Healthy Life Style Volunteers, Elementary and Secondary School Tutors, Adult Literacy Tutors, and Pre-school Story Time Volunteers.  RSVP also offers a wide variety of other opportunities where volunteers can apply their skills and talents to support the community.  Mileage reimbursement is available.  Come and join a growing group of individuals dedicated to improving the quality of life in their community.  RSVP Making A Difference / Getting Things Done

Serves Lincoln, Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties.  Provides volunteers for public and private non-profit agencies, museums, schools, nursing homes, libraries, senior centers, hospitals, etc.  Develops and supports opportunities for older adults 55 years of age and over to stay or become active in their communities through volunteer service.  Mileage reimbursement provided if needed.
