Since 1969 has been serving people with disabilities and children, birth to 3,
with special needs in Forest, Oneida, and Vilas Counties. Services
include:
Vocational Evaluation Program: A program designed to assess and evaluate individuals employment goals, work skills and training needs. This program focuses on individuals strengths and discovers what an individual CAN do. Analysis of individuals' learning attitude, workplace ethics, listening skills, and conflict resolution are all part of the assessment and evaluation process.

E mail: dkramer@headwatersinc.org BackCommunity Employment Services: A program designed to meet the employment needs of individuals with disabilities. After a thorough functional assessment of the person's strengths and abilities and an assessment of a business' needs, an appropriate job match is made. Integration with non-disabled co-workers and fair payment for valued work are requirements for placement at a work site. Supporting ranging from a full-time on-site coach to occasional monitoring is provided as long as needed. Individuals are referred through Headwaters, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Ticket to Work, other agencies, or self-referrals. Services include job seeking skills, vocational assessment and counseling, job development, job training and support, and Job Club.

Community Integration Program: Training provided in a structured environment to develop skills necessary to participate in community life and reduce the effects of their disability. Reality orientation, effective communication, recreation, grooming, cooking, planning and scheduling week-end leisure and community activities, developing hobbies, money skills, and pre-vocational hard and soft skill training (following work procedures, developing collating, sorting and packaging skills, working with jigs, accepting constructive criticism, and quality control of products) are typically included as part of the Community Integration Program.

Sensory Integration Program: A program that provides a varied, individualized sensory diet and physical therapy activities for individuals who need them in order for them to participate in their program activities.

E mail: eager1@headwatersinc.org BackWork Services: Training provided in a manufacturing setting to improve work performance. Skill development in the following areas is provided: problem solving, motivation, goal setting, leadership, stress management, workplace ethics, resiliency, conflict resolution, safety procedures, quality control techniques, listening skills, team building, and organization skills. This program is designed to expand competitive and/or community employment opportunities and/or remove obstacles to gainful employment. Individuals are paid based on their production. Piece rates are most common, but some hourly rates are used. Adaptations may be provided to enable a participant to do a specific task.

E mail: mpiazza@headwatersinc.org BackProfessional Auto Reconditioning Program: Program designed to teach individuals to polish, buff, shampoo, clean interior and exterior, steam clean engines, paint and glaze vehicles. Individuals are paid on an hourly rate. The hourly rate is based on ones' productivity.

E mail: autorecon@headwatersinc.org BackRest Area Maintenance Program: Program designed to teach individuals to properly care for lawns, maintain and clean restroom facilities, and maintain lawn equipment (mowers, tractors, etc.). This program takes place at State and County rest areas and at boat landings.

Birth to 3 Program: It is an early intervention program serving children ages birth to three. Program staff work in partnership with parents to plan an individual program for each child. Learning experiences are developed to enhance child/parent bonding and encourage development of speech/ language, thinking self-help, social, and motor skills.

Transportation: Transport participants who reside in Oneida, Vilas, and Forest Counties to Headwaters where they receive services.

jdeaton@headwatersinc.org BackCase Management Program: Case Managers are responsible to assist individuals to receive a full range of appropriate services in a planned, coordinated, efficient and effective manner. Individuals and their families are encouraged to participate in planning and requesting the services or items needed to foster independence and happiness.
